The Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance eradicates discrimination against Indian people in the work place and grants a preference in employment, contracting and sub-contracting to the Yankton Sioux Tribal members and local Indians. This ordinance deems it's duty to protect and enhance the unique employment rights of the Yankton Sioux Tribal membership and local Indians.
This Ordinance ia an official enactment of inherent sovereign powers of the Yankton Sioux Tribe and it's General Council in conjunction with the Tribal Business Council.
