The Yankton Sioux Housing Authority is a Yankton Sioux Tribal entity that is funded by (HUD) Housing and Urban Development under the Native American Housing Assistance Self Determination Act of 1996.

The primary purpose of the Yankton Sioux Housing Authority is to provide safe and decent dwellings for low income families of the Yankton Sioux Tribe. The Yankton Sioux Housing Authority currently manages 252 low rent units for low income tenants. The Yankton Sioux Housing Authority also works with Tribal members that have purchased their homes through the Yankton Sioux Housing Authority.

The Yankton Sioux Housing Authority provides counseling, inspections insurance coverage, general maintenance and renovations when needed for low rent units. The Yankton Sioux Housing Authority 184 Program focuses on the credit worthy Tribal members that wishes to purchase a home with in the Yankton Sioux Tribal reservation.
